HCA is Growing and Expanding

After a lengthy planning and fund raising process, the new upper school building and practice gym is under construction.  The initial process of preparing the foundations began shortly after the students and staff left for Christmas break.  So far, the construction of the new buildings has proceeded on schedule.

The new upper school will mirror the current upper school facility with the exception of larger room size as well as additional classrooms.  Along with larger rooms and a study areas, there will be a conference room and two office spaces which will be located at the connection of the middle school and upper school for the Ag Education classes offered at HCA.  The current upper school building will serve as the middle school building.  The upper school entrance will face the existing baseball field, and will be accompanied by an additional parking lot.  The forecasted completion of the new upper school is late fall.

Along with the new high school building, a new practice gym is being built.  This will result in more practice space for the numerous teams and events which are held at HCA.  This gym is being constructed next to the tennis courts, and will possibly supply electricity for future lighting of the baseball field.

Mr. Andy Wells, Asst. Headmaster states, "Construction is well underway on our new upper school building and practice gym.  The foundation has been poured and the steel is being set on both buildings.  Work has also begun on the new student entrance that will lead to the new parking lot.  Please come by and check out our progress.  There is something new everyday.  We look this project to be complete during the fall semester.  The upgrade to our septic system is nearly complete.  This upgrade will tie all our septic systems together and pump waste to one drain field.  We expect this system to be in operation in June."
